Hurry & Wait

Most have heard the phrase "Hurry Up & Wait." It simply means to prepare quickly for something that is then delayed. This is a familiar destination for individuals that are consistently working towards a goal. It feels like you've done everything in your power to create the bigger picture but the puzzle pieces are scattered. This delay can also feel like failure & defeat. It feels so good to move forward but sometimes we have stay where we are awhile longer.

As a music artist I go through this with my music. I can write up to four song a month & they are so encouraging that I want to rush to record & post them as quick as possible. Unfortunately it does not work this way. I maybe able to control certain aspects of the music but the timing is not mines to control. Instead I choose faith & acknowledge God’s Control not just for my life & my family but also for my music.

This use to really worry me but I have learned to make peace with it. I remind myself that we are told to "Be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6)" & also to "Be ready in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2)." These verses can be very helpful for anyone who is an expert at being stressed. We can't control the seasons but we can use this time to prepare ahead of time for them. So rather we have to wait seconds, minutes, hours, days or even years get ready but don't get anxious.
